CAMPUS RESET CENTER

BACKGROUND
As part of a collaborative entry of five for the IDEC Annual Conference, our team transformed Marrs Spring, a well-known spot at the University of Alabama, into a rejuvenating space. A place where students can pause, breathe, and find respite from campus life.

COLOR PALLETTE

LOCATION
CONCEPT
Inspired by the concept of seasons, the rest center will convey the feeling of rejuvenation and growth through the use of natural finishes and an earthy color palette. Each rest pod will represent one of the four seasons. The autumn room will be chestnut; the summer room will be amber; the winter room will be icy blue; and the spring room will be rose.
DESIGN STATEMENT
According to research, sleep deprivation can result in poor academic performance and emotional regulation. Both of these categories are critical to students’ success in college. Students having access to nature is also directly correlated to their health and wellbeing. At the Campus Rest Center, students will be able to relax and catch up on some much needed sleep while being surrounded by the natural beauty of the university.
